Memory Lane: Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP

15 years ago today, Eminem released the greatest solo album of his career, The Marshall Mathers LP. I remember the first time hearing this record and being shocked and amazed by the subject matter and clever wordplay (remember Stan or Kim?). With the recent success of Dr. Dre's Chronic 2001, released just 6 months before this album, the dynamic duo were able to continue their magic and create another classic. Definitely one of my top 10 rap albums of all time.

George Clinton (RBMA Festival New York 2015 Lecture)

For those unaware, funk has really made a commercial comeback in 2015 with records like To Pimp A Butterfly from Kendrick, Bush from Snoop Dogg, Tuxedo (Mayer Hawthorne & Jake One) and of course the Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars collab, Uptown Funk. But it all traces back to the dude George Clinton. Check out a very informative and candid interview with Dr. Funkenstein and the Redbull Music Academy.
